Where does the job actually live?

Not in one system. An office running several commercial jobs at once keeps each one spread across a whiteboard, a workbook, a text thread, a photo folder, a legal pad and somebody's memory. Every one of those holds something real — and none of them talk to each other, so the office rebuilds the job from scratch every time an owner asks a simple question.

Measured quantities push into the schedule of values as lines you price; the SOV builds the AIA G702/G703 pay app; an approved change order lands on the SOV as its own line. Re-measure a revised sheet and the same line updates instead of duplicating. Owner and lender review the pay app from a project-scoped link — no account, no paid seat — and it can't be marked paid while a sub who billed this period has no signed lien waiver on file. The server hands back the gap list, and an owner's override is written to the audit trail.

Measure on the drawing itself.

Calibrate a sheet and measure on it — lengths, areas, perimeter, volume, and candidate symbol matches you confirm. If we can't read the scale off the sheet, the measure tools stay disabled; there is no default scale. When the architect revises a sheet, re-measure it and we compute the quantity delta per condition in real units — LF, SF, CY, EA — into a draft change order for you to price. If the two sheets don't align we emit no numbers at all and say so: re-take-off required, no automatic change order.

Is there a free trial?

Not a self-serve one. Trials are arranged with us: we set your workspace up with a 30-day pilot on the full Pro feature set — drawings, manual takeoff, RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay apps, daily logs, plus the AI drafting agents and the Blueprint PDF engine — with no credit card. When it ends the workspace moves to Starter, a $0 capped state, and your data stays exactly where it is. Field-crew seats and client/sub portals are free and unlimited on every plan.

What happens to my data if I cancel — can I get it out?

Your data is yours to export. From each project you can download its documents as a ZIP and pull its registers (RFIs, change orders, submittals, pay-app and WIP data) as CSV, and you can request a full export of your account data. After you cancel we retain your workspace so you can still export; contact us to pull a full copy or to request deletion. (We don't yet offer a one-click whole-workspace archive — it's on the list; for now the per-project exports plus an account export cover your records.)

Does it sync with QuickBooks Online?

You can connect QuickBooks Online to push approved vendor bills and pay-app invoices across, and to pull payment status back into neuroBLDR. Map your cost codes to GL accounts, your subs to QuickBooks vendors, and your projects to customers on the settings screen — that mapping is what the push uses, and a record without one is skipped and reported rather than guessed at. When the two sides disagree on an amount we surface the discrepancy instead of auto-resolving it. Xero and Sage 100/300 Construction are on the roadmap.

Who can see the financial numbers?

You control it. Money visibility is role-based per project: owners and admins see everything; project managers and estimators see contract values and margin; superintendents see costs but not margin; foremen and field-crew seats see no dollar figures at all; viewers see none. Owners can tune the grid per role.

How is my data isolated and protected?

Two independent layers. Postgres row-level security is enforced in production and the app connects as a non-superuser role those policies apply to, so a query that loses its tenant context returns nothing rather than another customer's rows. On top of that, application guards derive workspace and project access from the signed-in user, revalidate child record IDs, and deny unassigned project access. External portal tokens are project-scoped, time-bounded, revocable, and hashed at rest. neuroBLDR does not use customer project data to train its own models, and AI features — the ones you run yourself and the drafting and classification agents that run on records as they're created — send only the context needed, through configured providers under their applicable data terms.

How is it different from Procore or Buildertrend?

Procore is enterprise-priced and complex; Buildertrend leans residential. neuroBLDR is built for the growing commercial GC in between — AI-native from day one, shipping AIA-format G702/G703 pay-app billing and conditional/unconditional lien waivers in the core product rather than reserving them for top tiers, and priced per office seat so a full field roster costs nothing.
